Plaid, Pumpkins, and Pickings. . .

When we start pulling out plaids, gathering pumpkins, and picking from the garden you know Fall is right around the corner.

I was so excited when I got a fall plaid throw at the Pendleton store that I couldn't wait to play with it!

Click here if you want to take a tour of the Pendleton Mill.

I grabbed a piece of rusty metal, my chippy yellow chair, and plopped that baby down.

I tell you, I am just mad about plaid!

We have had two of our grands staying with us this week and I run them to and from school each day.

The very day I planned to play with my Pendleton I drove by a house selling pumpkins on the way home.

One might say, it was destiny!  :)
(really, you never see roadside pumpkins this early)

Next came the boots.  A $2 score at a yard sale last Spring.  Sunflowers picked from the garden added the perfect touch.

It's coming together nicely, wouldn't you agree?

Let's see what else we can find in the garden.  Oh yes!  My sweet hanging bucket (it has a hook on the back), with the orange trim.

Add another pumpkin, one that has a bit of green, a red cabbage, and clippings from my Russian Sage bush.

I love a bit of Nature in my vignettes!

I found the two floral chalkware plaques at our thrift for $1 each.  They had a few worn places, but I came home and rubbed them with dark wax and they look wonderful!

Isn't it fun to see something come together?

It's everything I'd hoped it would be!  ha, ha!

I've been holding on to summer, but now I'm Fall-ing for Fall!
hugs,

Leave to Jann to find the earliest pumpkin! I love plaid any time of year, but it seems perfect from fall to Christmas. Great styling.

Does seem early for pumpkins, but I was at a county fair last weekend and there were several large pumpkins entered into the show.

Love your Fall vignette, it really looks so good.
I have been bringing in some of my Fall dishes to put in the hutch and I have everything ready to go. But, it's hard to get motivated when it's 100 degrees outside. I am hoping after this all full hot weather it will cool down. I am so ready for fall. I haven't seem any pumpkins or mums yet.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Mary

How cute is this! Love the colors in your Pendleton throw. I can't believe there are pumpkins already but then you guys have a longer growing season than us. It's cooler here especially at night. I feel fall coming but I'm in no hurry!

I wonder how my polka dot rain boots would look with flowers? They certainly have not gotten any rain use in the last 3 years!
